Esys 3.38.2 is included with BU
Does one need to do anything in Bimmercode in order for it to cooperate with a newer esys version, or is it simply a matter of installing the new esys?

I assume you mean BimmerUtility, correct, just install the new esys and point BU to it in the settings, easy.
Thanks for bringing the BimmerUtility to market, the Launcher wasn't cutting it for me anymore, just used BU to VO code my F15 and was so easy to use.
