Need to use ISTA d for diagnosing some faults on my E92 320d, its had FRM module repaired before the FRM wasn't updated though.

Was wondering if I plug the car in and use ISTA d to check modules do I risk bricking the FRM? If so what are the work rounds to using ISTA d for diagnostics?

Thanks
FRM is working??? what Faults do you have?
You cant brick FRM if you have engine running while using ISTA D .
As long as you have communication with FRM you can always recover. It you can reach it with tool32 you can reprogram it.
If it'll be completly bricked, you need to use external programmer to recover
