I have just finished installing mine.
1. First of all, if you don’t have, download and install qBitTorrent. (
https://www.qbittorrent.org/download)
2. If you don’t have, also download and install 7Zip (
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html)
2. Download the ISTA Standalone Torrent file provided in this thread
3. Open the Torrent file and start the download. Download the file to your desktop.
4. Once the Torrent is done downloading, open the downloaded folder and run the installer.
5. Just follow the instructions on the installer, once prompted on what to install, just tick the whole Tools section, ICOM, ISTA, and the SQLiteDBs for the languages you want. Also tick the EDIBIAS changer. (You’ll get 7.3 and 7.7 and can switch between the two depending what car you’re working on)
6. Once on the interface selection, just tick everything
7. When it asks you for the installation location, just keep it to what it defaults to
8. Wait for it to install. It’ll take some time. I recommended disabling Windows Firewall and Realtime protection during the installation as I’ve noticed it greatly speeds it up.
9. Once done just boot up the icon on your desktop and it should work.

It’s in the notes inside the extracted folder. Enter the password when prompted by the installer

Windows 10 is recommended. Not sure about Windows 7, may work but Windows 10 is the sweet spot to avoid any problems

Close ISTA completely , and start it again . Check if you can read the car.
Also you didn't mention anything about the car info , if it is a Gxx car , make sure you switch on the Digansotic mode ( google search if you don't know how ).
I have tried on both Fxx and Gxx vehicles (in diagnostic mode). When I try to connect by reading the VIN, the connection manager is blank. When I input the VIN manually, I see the "check vehicle interface" error.

I got an installing error message.
And then, after proceeding and finishing the installation, I tried to connect to my E61 using a K+DCAN cable, I got the other message inside ISTA
I saw a similar Edge error when installing.
