Flashing ECUs - Tips? - rpg - 12-04-2025 A couple or so times a year I’d download full psdzdata, extract into ėšÝ§ and do a SVT target calculation to see any updates to modules, for a couple of BMWs in our household. Probably don’t need to update but I do it anyway (half a hobby), and I write the updated i-level after. Today I did it for my F31 and the only SW update was for the ATM (telematics) module. I flashed it anyway, all good. All other modules up to date, so changed I-level and done. But I wondered if there was a more efficient way of checking to see for module updates? Between downloading the 100GB+ file, extracting it (takes just as long as download) and then finally making space on HDD it can be a cumbersome task. Can psdzdata lite tell me anything about programming data contents from the full package? I have BimmerUtility, ėšÝ§ and ÎŜ†Ä all working well with ENET cable. RE: Flashing ECUs - Tips? - ek1978 - 12-04-2025 yes Lite version is more than enough to check if there is new update or not RE: Flashing ECUs - Tips? - rpg - 12-04-2025 Knew I should have checked before now… thanks I’m assuming it’ll get right to the point in TAL processing in ėšÝ§ as it would with full psdzdata - but then “Check software availability” will fail as no programming data? That part of ėšÝ§ is useful as it only lists the modules that require updating RE: Flashing ECUs - Tips? - ek1978 - 12-04-2025 exactly, you can complete all the steps of flashing with ėšÝ§ till the point where you click " Start " to flash , at that time you will get an error . |
