2017 G30 yield warning stopped working - bavees - 12-08-2025

Hello,

My car is from Canada, imported to Europe so the yield warning was not working when I got it. It said "not available in this country". I don't really care for the feature but wanted to have it enabled nonetheless (for the sake of completeness).
This summer I had a go at doing the coding and got it to work. I was able to configure it in individual mode and it worked also when all systems were on.
Stop and Yield signs would display in the HUD and the Cluster.

About 2 months ago I returned from my small seaside town to the city where I live and noticed I never got the beeps for yield or stop signs which are plentiful here.

Two things have changed during that period.

1 - I was having issues with my Kombi and I replaced it with a virginized one. But after coding it I used create new ncd and imported my backup with my personal codings.
2 - just prior to replacing the kombi in a last ditch attempt to fix the issue I also did an istep update. But I made sure to backup and FDL codings and restored all of them (or think so)

I had some older backups and also used ėšÝ§ ultra's ncd compare to cross check all of my ecu's and found only two discrepancies in DSC3:

C_EDP_Vorhanden -> it was set to nicht_aktiv but in my backup it had been set to vorhanden
C_VFA_Funktion -> it was set to disable but in my backup it was enabled

I switched both but no luck.

The feature is still available in all menus and even when enabling all assistance I don't get any messages about one of them being unavailable. But I don't get any warning and no signs show up in my cluster.

What I have double checked is:

- make sure that all parameters with "land_aktiv" in their name in both SAS and DSC have all bytes set to FF
- in KAFAS make sure that:
   WWA is set to aktiv
VFW country variant mode has all bytes set to 11
VFW error handling is set to nicht aktiv
Country WWA on-off all bytes that were 00 are set to FF
- confirmed that additional signs are enabled in kombi

As far as I can see everything is set correctly. And the car seems to think so as well since there are no errors displayed or logged and the feature is available.

But I don't get anything displayed no matter how fast I blow by a yield or stop sign.

I am intentionally testing on a sign that is on a long-ish straight road with no obstructions and the sign is clearly visible. I've tried to approach the stop sign at 70 kp/h and stopping right after it as well.
The only issue I can think of with my testing is that I have to do it at night as there is too much traffic near where I live to test safely during daytime.

But I did just come back from a 1000km trip across the country done 90% during daytime and never got a single warning.

I've sadly deleted the note I made with the list of ECU's that got updated but as far as I remember the only one relevant to this feature that got a new version was DSC3. And anyways I've compared the ncd's from a time I am certain was prior to the update and the only changes are the ones I mentioned above.

Any ideas are welcome, thanks!
