Headunit identification and potential upgrades - SaalaaahBC - 01-06-2026 Hello, I have BMW F20 114d 2017 My headunit doesn't have navigation and it has 6.5" screen, I am trying to understand what kind of unit I have, because in bimmercode it shows as HU_NBT, but I am supposing it to be ENTRY, you can find attached the pictures of the unit and wiring. I was able to retrofit a blackpanel 6wa to my car successfully (with MOST connection), the person who did the retrofit told me that the extra free port i have is either for GPS or WIFI antennas. those are the options I have from factory - S663 Radio BMW Professional - S698 Area-Code 2 for DVD - S6AC Intelligent emergency call - S6AE Teleservices - S6NH Hands-free system with USB interface. also worth noting that I can find the location of my car using MyBMW (which means i have some sort of gps available). My goal is: - Have a bigger screen (8.8"). - Enable Navigation (so I can have SLI information in my Kombi using a simulator). - (stretch) enable carplay. Can someone help me figure out this? and tell me what I can do with my unit, Happy to pay for a remote session (I have ENET cable ready). thank you RE: Headunit identification and potential upgrades - Stratofortress - 01-06-2026 This is EntryNav Head Unit, which was introduced from 7/2014 on. As the vehicle is without navigation from factory, it can not be retrofitted to this unit. A larger screen is possible with this unit. For screen swap a suitable 8.8" screen is F30 pre-LCI with part# 9292248. Also a simple coding is required for HU to adjust the larger screen display. RE: Headunit identification and potential upgrades - SaalaaahBC - 01-06-2026 Thank you, too bad that it is not possible to upgrade it :') |
