Coding HOD out after steering-wheel replacement - Yoully - 09-24-2026

I’m looking at replacing the steering wheel in my 2023 G22 M440i but the replacement does not support the factory capacitive Hands-On Detection.

* I-Step S18A-25-07-538
* 5AU Driving Assistant Professional
* 248 heated steering wheel
* Automatic Lane Change enabled

Is it possible to code the car for a non-HOD steering wheel while keeping the Steering and Lane Control Assistant and Automatic Lane Change functions?

Would changing HOD_VERBAUT to “not fitted” make SAS3 fall back to steering-torque detection, or would it disable or restrict the 5AU functions?

Has anyone tested this on an S18A vehicle with SAS3 or any other car.

Thanks.
