Bmw F11 RSE retrofit help
#1
Hello,

I have undertaking a larger project, and maybe I'm in over my head.

Everything is installed, but I have trouble coding it to the car.

I have successfully vo coded the RSE and the CIC. But I am having trouble my my screens.i can't get to flash them. The Hwell stays blue or red.

I tried to get Hw I'd from sat actual with no luck.

I guess the 2 CIDs in esys are the rear screens, eventhough I thought they would be called Fd and Fd2.

Another peculiar thing is, that when I calculate TAL, it shows both Rse mid and Rse High. I only vo coded the mid, as the high option is for 7 series with the controller in the rear seat.

Any help is appreciated before I ship it off to a professional.

A last remark could be that I messed something up in the wiring, but it should be OK.

The screens turn on when I start the car, but the image is orange and the they turn off (I can send a blue test image to both screens in ista)

(Disregard all my other faults most of them is due to an other retrofit I'm into (surround view), I just need to connect the right mirror camera properly.

CODING:

The final step was to power up the RSE unit and code it to the vehicle.

Upon connecting the RSE and monitors to the vehicle I ran a diagnostic scan using Rheingold, this detected the RSE unit and the monitors FD and FD2.

All three had errors, 'No Coding Data Present' and 'Module is not Coded to the Vehicle'

I closed this and ran E-Sys, the modules require the CAFD files to be issued to them so they can be coded.

To code the units I had to add option code SA6FG to the vehicle order, I could then select the FD, FD2 and RSE modules and click the 'Detect CAFD for SWE' button, this allows you to issue the CAFD file to the modules, then simply hit the 'Code' button on the selected modules.
This has to be done for the FD, FD2, RSE and CIC at a minimum.

The rear entertainment remote can then be paired/programmed to the car using the service activities section in Rheingold."
