Identify plug damaged during F40 cam retrofit
#1
Hello,

During a recent retrofit of a reversing camera to my 1-Servies F40 128Ti, the plug that connects to the boot release switch has been damaged.
Can anyone help me in identifying the part number for a replacement?
The plug is a 2-pin plug and has a profile that fits to the socket shown in the picture.
Thank you in advance if anyone can help

Colin

what is exactly damaged , the boot release switch socket is damaged or the connector which has the 2 wires is damaged ?

if the Boot release switch socket is damaged , then realoem website can give you the correct part number for your car.

if the connector is damaged , post a picture of it please.

The connector is damaged. Unfortunately, I do not have adequate tools to remove the handle repeatedly without causing damage to the handle itself, so I can't show a picture just now.
Thanks for responding anyway, much appreciated.

This looks like the thing I'm looking for. Sadly, the parts web site does not show the profile of the end of the plug.
That being said, it is not expensive, so I've ordered it to see if it is the right one.

Thanks for you help.

this is an universal 2 Pin connector , it is a repair connector from BMW , that means it has no profile like the original one.

But it will solve your problem 100%
