Gracenote NBT EVO Europe 11/2020
#1
This is only for NBT EVO, I don't have the gracenote for other headunits.
If you don`t know what gracenote is, google it.
Credit goes to @bmwcoder75 from CT.

Copy the Gracenote folder and the 2 files to folder named "BMWData\CDDB\GRACENOTE" on Fat32 Formatted USB Drive.
Service menu > Update gracenotes

Attached Files
.txt   gracenote NBT EVO Europe.txt (Size: 137 bytes / Downloads: 246)
Don't forget to press =====>[Image: Thanks.jpg] if you think I helped

F20 Hidden Menu Access

OK, since a few members enquired, I will try to explain as plain as possible, how to access the hidden menu in your F20.

1. Start the engine (it may work with only ignition on, I have not tried it) and make sure you have all doors and boot closed. If one door is open, it will not work.

2. Press the odometer reset button and keep it pressed until the BC screen changes (at least 10'').

3. When the screen changes, release the button. It will display a menu with numbered options. To scroll to each option you have press once the ODO resete button.

4. Go to option No. 4 UNLOCK and then press the odo reset button for a few seconds. It will enter the menu of this option and it will ask you for the unlock code.

5. The unlock code is the sum of the last 5 digits of your VIN. For example if your VIN is E123456, then the unlock code will be the number 20.

6. Enter the unlock code by pressing the odo reset button so many times required (in our example 20 times), until the number of the unlock code is displayed on the screen. If you accidentaly press the button more times than the required, worry not, just keep pressing it until it starts from 0 again.

7. Once you enter the unlock code, press again the odo rest button for a few seconds, to go to the previous menu. Now, the full unlocked menu should be displayed.

8. Scroll through all the option. Option No. 8 ''Temperature'' displays the outside temp, oil temp and coolant temp. To enter this option just press for a few seconds the odo reset button.

In general, when you are inside the hidden menu, by pressing the odo reset button once, you scroll through the options. By pressing it for a few seconds you will either enter the menu displayed or go back to the previous menu, depending on which screen you are at.

If you have professional navigation (this implies that you have an idrive controller that can slide up and down)

Call up Start (main) menu
• Push controller in up direction for at least 10 s
• Rotate slowly controller, 3 notches to the right
• Rotate slowly controller, 3 notches to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Press controller once
• The Service menu is now added as the last submenu to "Settings"

Hi,
thanks for this support on the forum!

As I cannot see any entry in the hidden menu related to the Gracenote (I can see Temperature, test start.., BC 0, Corr. ..,)  I have a question:

Is this function present in G30 as well?     (NBTevo  sw ver R19144I other mainly 006.074.002)

thanks again

I update my gracenote in NBT Evo, perfect. Thank you "xuletz"
I add some notes for beginners if it helps:
  •  Copy the 3 files (inside GRACENOTE folder) in the next folder structure:
    1. BMWData
        1.1 CDDB
          1.1.1 GRACENOTE ---> copy 3 files here
  • Open SERVICE MENU, to open you have to unlock follow the next instruction of "Alec01"
Quote:If you have professional navigation (this implies that you have an idrive controller that can slide up and down)

Call up Start (main) menu
• Push controller in up direction for at least 10 s
• Rotate slowly controller, 3 notches to the right

If you have problem you can follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7We1_yUvH8
  • Once you unlock SERVICE MENU, go to GRACENOTE
  • Once inside, insert USB with files
  • When is detected it show your current version and the updated version
  •  Install
  • Done!
About USB configuration, format it in FAT32. You can use this tool GUIFORMAT to format USB units until 64GB: https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Har...l#download

Please use a good quality USB.
