Edit Reason: updated esys version
)
Thanks! I am learning to try to work with the new u11 chassis, with the ecu validation.
Last year I was able to recover a bricked hu unit using esys after reading many pages of posts from experienced users (many thanks for posting info). Now trying to figure out the ecu validation, but prefer to use e-sys over ISTA+ for single module programming. Am I on the right track? 1. Generate a Request File in E-Sys 2X.XX 2. Connect E-Sys to the vehicle and navigate to "Expert Mode" -> "Comfort Mode" -> "Certificate Management" tab. 3. Go to the "Offline" tab. 4. Click "Read SVT (ECU)" and "Read VIN". 5. Select the relevant ECU that needs validation. 6. Click "Read data and create temporal CBB Request File" and save the generated .json file to your computer. Use BMW TIS online service $32 per day to Process the File Externally 1. "ECU Validation Service". 2. Upload the ValidationRequest_VIN_xxx.json file you generated in E-Sys to their online portal. 3. The service will process the request and provide you with a response file, usually named ValidationRequest_VIN_xxx_response.json , which contains the necessary security certificates. 4. Write the Response File Back to the ECU in E-Sys 5. Return to E-Sys in the "Certificate Management" tab. 6. Go to the "Write data" section (or the "Online" tab depending on the specific E-Sys Launcher version). 7. Select "Choose locally available CBB Response File [JSON]". 8. Select the response.json file you downloaded from the online service. 9. Click "Write data" and wait for the process to complete successfully. 10. You can then press the "Start data check" button to confirm the ECU validation has been successfully completed
