1. ediabas at least for me does not installt all in win 11 24h2 with the package installer, it gets skipped all together 
2. chrome is not needed at all for anything, just regular edge.
3. manually unpack the edibas files and place then 7.3 and 7.7 in the ediabas folder located at ec-aaps/ediabas
4. delete the 2 junk links to ediabas which are created on the desktop and replace the the 2 exe file extracted above.
5. running either of the 2 exe files simply deletes c:/ediabas and symlinks the relevant ediabas located in the ec-apps/ediabas
6. 7.3 in this install is pointless, get rid of it all together and replaces the 7.3 contents with a working ediabas 7.3 patched from bimmer geeks or other. easy connect will work fine with the patched ediabas, not this 7.3 versions.
7. 7.3 works with eyerything, standard tools, esys etc. NOT ista. for this ista must use 7.7 and EASY CONNECT WILL NOT WORK with it, install itool radar, works fine.

8. if ista crashes on error upon first connecting, ediabas install problem from old versiosn, same if error oipening. old rc cleaner will not help you.

9. this standalone is lacking in the following:

- does not have hardware check disabled
- does not have multibrand enabled, Toyota, RR etc
- slow not optimised for performance
- not optimised to support voltage spoffing etc if thats your thing
- not modified for research only no connection
- not setup for programming with icon/enet etc

Standarlone does not have the registry files for programming and whats more also installer does not installer the execution breaks automatically either.

Very annoyingly, installer requires to install ista in full each time.

Its possible to get programming to work but 100% not out of the box with this installation, perhpas someone else can take some time to contribute.

Thanks to the op for sharing and hope that clear up some basics.


PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS: F IT

1. create this directory and move execution break data into it. usually hidden, explorer show files hidden
C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ISTA\ExecutionBreak

2. edit resigtry  @ Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold

below all changed to true manually

BMW.Rheingold.ExecutionBreak.Version
BMW.Rheingold.Programming.Enabled
BMW.Rheingold.Programming.ExpertMode

3. restart win and software, programming only via lan not wifi.

4. symlink psdz between esys ista, also no problem.
directories as follows:

esys: installed-Directory-For-Data\psdzdata
ista: C:\EC-APPS\ISTA\PSdZ\data_swi\psdzdata or whereever installed \PSdZ\data_swi\psdzdata
