test bench setup

Hey, I am looking to learn coding and wanted to setup a test bench to practice, I see a few videos where coders have the idrive headunit/controller on their desk. I have my own F series BMW that I can practice on, but wanted something I can break without breaking my car...

Is there any guide to what you need and how to set it up?

You need a testing platform,

you need communication with FEM/BDC.

This company sells the platform if you need it.

I already bought it and it works well.
