NCS-Expert Error (FA:$210) on E60
#1
Hey everyone!

I bought a K+DCAN Cable (with no switch button for old models) that it supposedly can connect to my BMW E60 523i 2006
The cable came with a CD that has INPA, Ediabas only (which I didn't need much except driver files).

I installed the latest EasyBMWTools by @Rob , configured the cable to Com1, Latency (1), changed ediabas config to STD:OBD, all settings as should be.

Now, INPA works successfully and can diagnose as it should.
but NCS expert, when I try to read from CAS/LMA I get the following error:
"Follwing feature is invalied for FA: $210"

I don't understand why, Also on ISTA+ its not connecting via Ediabas.ini.

Can you please tell me if its the K+DCAN cable or the software, or maybe the configuration of Ediabas?

Please, Any help is really appreciated...
Thanks!

Sorry I don't understand "210 option cannot be on your car", I understand that is an attribute, if error is very clear, how can I avoid it?

As for ISTA+ v4.49, when I try connect (using EDIABAS.ini) and click "Set up connection", it takes time to connect then it asks for last 7 numbers of the VIN, ending with no connection at all.

Just to be clear, if its connecting via CAS module, does it affect if the CAS vin number is different from all other modules?
because I only tested INPA and it seems working properly.

The error is stating that in your vehicle order, option code $210 is not an option that your chassis supports. This looks to be for DSCIII which I believe is something the E46 had.

How it got there I have absolutely no idea, but you should just be able to remove $210 from your VO in NCSExpert by pressing "f2" after you click okay on that error. After that FA write to your CAS and LMA module to update the VO with that option removed.

Thank you,
I managed to remove $210 option simply in my VO by pressing "Delete" which I wasn't expecting it to be this way, I guess its not written in the book Smile

I do have a serious question, my CAS, DME and some other module have different VIN from the original car VIN
is that going to be an issue of how its communicating with other modules? and do I need to change the vin for those 2 or 3 modules?
