?️ No GPS Signal in HU – BMW X3 xDrive30e (ID5_1911 / likely iDrive6)
#1
Hi everyone,

I’m having a persistent navigation issue with my BMW X3 xDrive30e Advantage, and I’m hoping someone here might have experience or suggestions.

? The Issue:

My head unit (HU) does not receive a GPS signal, even though the TCB is working perfectly and reports a 3D GPS fix.

? System Info:

HMI version via ISTA: ID5_1911

HU has a touchscreen, tile layout, and Apple CarPlay, which points to iDrive6 (HU_B)

Ethernet connection to the HU is fully functional with 91% quality

HU is supposed to receive GPS via Ethernet from the TCB

? What’s been tried so far:

Performed a hardware reset of the HU

Deleted and reinstalled navigation map data

Reset navigation calibration using Tool32

Working with Tool32 + NBTEVO.prg

> Important Detail:
When I execute the jobs gps_position or gps_datum on the HU using Tool32 with NBTEVO.prg, the job returns an error.

Open Questions:

1. Is this job error when reading GPS data a known issue?

2. How can I re-run the navigation calibration with Tool32?
→ If anyone knows which job inside NBTEVO.prg does this, that would be a huge help.

3. Is there a way to directly test the TCB HU GPS communication?

4. Could it be a coding or mapping error preventing GPS data from reaching the HU?

Any input, tool suggestions, or experiences would be greatly appreciated. ?

Best regards

Did you do a TCB Reset on ISTA? If this not work then remove the TCB from the car and remove the emergency batterie from the TCB for one hour and put then everything together and try if the GPS Position is ok.
