G07 Programing issues HELP please.

I was attempting to encode a new A/C module I troubleshot for my 2020 X7 while I was in there I was updating the entire car as I no longer live near a dealership (closest is 7 hrs away). While I was updating shit went south and the programming halted and bricked the car. I’ve tried a lot but I can barely connect toy the car, ISTA+ will not complete a vehicle test anymore so it will not allow me to reattempt a program. Attached is the module tree as it looks now. Kinda last ditch at this point. I tried Esys but I think it was too late and the damage was done.

I’m willing to let someone remote it to help.

I'm sorry to hear man. Hopefully there is someone here that can help with this. From my past experience, when this happens at the dealer, there is a remote coding session (IWRAP) that attempts to renew firmware in the idividual modules that could not complete programming and to get the rest of the car communicating again. You may need to tow it to a dealer to have them do this if no one chimes in and can give you a direction/ can help you remotely code.

Did you have a high amperage charger attatched? 70+amp vehicle charger is always recommended for complete programming sessions in order to not loose communication between modules during full programming through ISTA+.

I do have a large power supply it was a computer issue. Do some reason I cannot upload the picture but the ZGM and BDC are yellow and everything else is blue. It does also have Ethernet faults and I’ve tried to initialize flexray and the Ethernet ports with errors to DME SAS EPS DSC VIP
LMV. The other weird thing is I can connect to the car with ISTa 4.3 but not 4.5. When I run the whole vehicle test it says my program is curruptand I cannot initialize programming even though I’ve reloaded it multiple times.
towing it to a dealer is not feasible I live in central Montana and the closes dealer is in Boise Idaho.

I understand. See if you can get that picture uploaded so we can see fault list and module tree if possible. There may be a problem with the version you have installed that caused issues during full programming. do you have 4.3x.x SDP files for full vehicle programming enabled?

You could try reprogramming through the earlier version of ISTA, I think 4.32.15 with SDP has I level availability for your 2020 x7 but I couldnt be certain. Im pretty sure that version can program up to roughly early 2021 models. It may be your best option. In the past, I have had vehicles run into issues during programming on G cars, especially with the BDC failing programming and have had to have them remotely coded to get comms back up and running. As long as the modules are not red or bricked, you may be able to save this.

Were you using an ENET cable or an ICOM? I know ENET programming has been enabled recently but havent heard much about it. Typically you need an ICOM for full vehicle programming safely

OTA failure.The BDC module is stuck dead.Offical way to slove this is a offline version ISTA.Which is able to save the BDC and make the car alive.Need to call the dealership for help.The special ISTA is on a remote desktop and actived online,can't copy.

Alright after much hassle I got it to fully connect on an ISTA with Programing but it will not update software, I actually had it connect once and have the software update plan and everything unfortunately that was over wifi so it would not allow me to update and when i plugged in the ethernet cable all was lost. Now it is giving me this weird I-level error. I got that error before but i thought it may have been because i was using an older version of ISTA but nope just got it with the new one. I can get the car to connect to INPA and it shows all the modules talking.

Try this as a last ditch effort, it may or may not work. I'd also try the BMWTIS website again and see if you can get their version of ISTA working once its back online. Dealer networks are notorious for going down randomly.

Disconnect battery and wait 30 minutes->Reconnect battery-> plug ethernet into router, THEN into ICOM, THEN into OBD2, THEN turn on diagnostic mode(triple click start)->full identification

Let me know what happens, Im very curious to see if we can get this thing back up and working but im not confident. If all else fails you may HAVE to tow it to a dealer for a remote IWRAP from BMW support if no one here can help you get it working remotely. Those pictures of module tree are telling me you bricked most of the car trying to program and many of them have aborted but I see ZGM and BDC are still communicating, just faulted.

So in the past day I found a 4.39 with the 4.54.1 data pack. This version connects readily unlike 4.52, installed it myself without an installer so I wasn’t chasing down random config issues. And got it to work and program the HU-H, DME and a few others it took 8hrs just for the HU-H but it’s done I know there are a few other things that run through the HU-H so I’m waiting for it to calculate again to see if I can do another programming iteration.

Awesome! Solid update. The older versions are considerably more stable so im not surprised. Hopefully it has the I levels you need to get it at least driveable. I would keep letting it calculate and trying over and over until they start coming back online. Try and stick with that datapack as it is mostly current to roughly late 2022 if i recall correctly.
