RemoteUtility Carplay + Maps activation help
#1
Hi all,

I've just purchased Carplay + Lifetime maps activation from BU.

I've downloaded the installer and it's not the Feature Installer that's I've seen in a number of tutorial seen on the interwebs which automatically takes a backup of the OEM FSCs and functionality to restore them.

The installer provided is actually using BU's RemoteUtility - will this installer take a backup of the OEM FSCs? My car has warranty and I need a way to be able to remove the custom FSCs and restore the original OEM FSCs in the event I need take my car into BMW for service/warranty work.

Any more guidance/docs (for dummies) on how to activate/restore FSCs using RemoteUtility will be appreciated!

Thanks

Thanks. So if I want to restore the original OEM FSCs I just run RemoteUtility again?

Just like clockwork, my car experienced issues yesterday and is now booked in for BMW to take a look, and they will potentially carry out work under warranty.

I'm going to use RemoteUtility to revert back to OEM FSCs before it goes in.

The issues with my car has generated fault codes and I want these to remain so they can use these to investigate - will RemoteUtilty clear these codes? As I seem to remember seeing a "clearing DTC" process when patching the custom FSCs

Thanks
