Hello dear BimmerScene community!
I have a 2018 G30 (540i) and I changed the regular 20" tire sidewall height to match F90 (M5) or 7-series size/diameter to better fill the wheel arches.
Went from 245/35 to 245/40 front and 275/30 to 275/35 rear. Does anyone know if and how to code the new wheel/tire sizes to iDrive and also make the speedometer and odometer read correctly? Something like altering wheel impulses per 1 revolution or distance traveled in one wheel revolution?
With old/original setup (245/35R20 & 275/30R20) I had speedometer speed 100 km/h = 96 km/h real (GPS/Dragy) and when driving 80 km road every day it did read 80 km in odometer.
With new tyre sizes (245/40R20 & 275/35R20) I have speedometer speed 100 km/h = 100 km/h in real (GPS/Dragy) and when driving the same 80 km road the odometer reads only 76 km distance.
Is there a way to change the wheel setup defaults somewhere or re-calibrate? I would still have the speedo speed and real speed difference along with the correct distance reading in odo.
If someone knows something, help would be much appreciated!
