ISTA and Bmw standard tools

Hi,
I'm new to these kind of programs,
My car is BMW E61 525d LCI 2008
I have two questions:
- Is there a step-by-step thread for how to use ISTA and Bmw standard tools??
- Does the ISTA-D which is posted in (BMW F / G Series Coding & Retrofits & Diagnostics) work with E Series?
