I wanted to recommend a tool I’ve been testing recently for remote BMW/MINI coding called CONNECT.

For anyone doing remote coding regularly, this is honestly one of the more interesting solutions I’ve tried because it eliminates a lot of the usual setup headaches.

The main idea is simple: the customer opens a small Windows app and connects their ENET, K+DCAN, ICOM or J2534 interface, and on the coder side the vehicle behaves almost like it was connected locally.

I’ve been especially impressed with the ENET implementation. E-Sys can discover the remote car normally, instead of having to mess around with VPNs, IP configurations or port forwarding. It also works with ISTA/ICOM, EDIABAS tools such as INPA, NCS Expert and Tool32, and even J2534 devices.

There are also a lot of small features that clearly seem designed by someone who understands the problems we deal with doing remote jobs:

• Live vehicle voltage and terminal status
  
• Customer laptop battery, charger and Wi-Fi/LAN status
  
• Low-voltage and connection-quality warnings
  
• Remote ignition/diagnostic mode control on supported F/G-series cars
  
• Automatic VIN/head unit/software detection
  
• CarPlay compatibility check
  
• Built-in encrypted chat and file/photo/video sharing
  
• Remote PC control for troubleshooting
  
• Saved customers with auto-accepted future sessions
  
• Automatic K+DCAN switch detection
  
• Compact always-on-top session window
  

One of the biggest advantages for businesses is the white-label option. The customer application can use your own company name, logo, colors and even your own domain, so from the customer's perspective they are using your company's remote coding software rather than a generic third-party tool.

There is also an API planned/designed around shop and booking-system integration, which could make the whole process much more automated.

I’m still testing it, but so far I think anyone doing a decent volume of BMW/MINI remote coding should take a look at it.

The beta is currently free until October 31, 2026, so it’s a good opportunity to test it without committing to anything.

Definitely worth checking out if you're tired of VPNs, TeamViewer networking workarounds and explaining ENET configuration to customers.
