Hi from another BMW fan/fool

Hi all,

I'm an e53 X5 4.8is owner who bought my car after sending it to a BMW dealer for a pre purchase inspection.

Given the all clear I spent $1300 shipping it across Australia only to find a heap on codes on it, in particular VANOS codes on bank 2.

Long story short, that resulted in an engine out rebuild and a $12,000 bill of which the dealer paid for $8500 of.

The car runs great now.

I also have an e53 X5 3.0D which is giving me grief with the trailer control module. I am struggling to solve the dramas.
