Hello, I need some help.
I’m new to using ISTA or similar software.
I’ve tried several times to download and run ISTA shared in this thread.
Each time I try to connect to the car, I get the following error:
"The vehicle could not be identified successfully. Check vehicle interface and 'PAD active'."
Can someone guide me step by step so that the program works correctly?

@ek1978 @ir655 I have the same problem. Using latest ICOM Next A5 (Genuine BMW).

@bmwnerd36 : check if you have a Folder called Ediabas on the root of your C: Drive , rename it to anyting you like or add 1 at the end .

Close ISTA completely , and start it again . Check if you can read the car.

Also you didn't mention anything about the car info , if it is a Gxx car , make sure you switch on the Digansotic mode ( google search if you don't know how ).

Hi,
Can someone help me with the installation?
I got an installing error message.
And then, after proceeding and finishing the installation, I tried to connect to my E61 using a K+DCAN cable, I got the other message inside ISTA

Muss ich mal vergleichen, hab derzeit auf eine andere etwas ältere Version gewechselt, da geht alles.
Erst dachte ich es liegt ggf. Am reg File wegen Version data_swi und blp, da weiß ich nicht genau was ich für die lite Version ändern muss.

Kurzes Feedback meinerseits,
Leider funktioniert bei mir auch nicht alles, finde keinen genauen Grund dafür.
Installation klappt einwandfrei, Ista öffnet auch, Pdsz Full eingefügt.
Beim öffnen eines neuen Vorgangs mit einer VIN lädt es kurz und spring wieder zur Eingabe.
Daher keine Funktion des Programms möglich, vielleicht liegt es an einer Einstellung?
Hat jemand einen Tipp? Ansonsten wirds wieder deinstalliert.

Same exact problem! I mean: on first installation all goes rights, inserting vin manually without connecting my car let me read some informations I needed; after some registry modification (data swi info update, programming enabled etc..) now I got same problem, inserting vin and after some seconds nothing. Any help appreciate.

UPDATE
programming.enabled=true - do not read VIN manually inserted;
programming.enabled=False - can read VIN manually inserted.

No password required

The download isn't password protected. And for the installer you find the password in a text file in Download folder
