Fail to calibrate the steering angles

Active steering initializing....
it now says constantly on the panel in my E60.
I changed the SZL on it and have programmed it.
Now I'm completely stuck when I have to calibrate the steering angles.
In ISTA it works fine until I have to move the steering wheel right-left +-10 gr, then the program fails.
What am I missing.some suggestions please!

Hello. No, I don't get an error code. ISTA writes repeatedly tries to initialize control but fails.
STA writes roughly that, I don't remember exactly as I'm not at home, but I can check later in the day if you want.

I start calibrating the steering angles and ISTA works fine until you have to turn the steering wheel about 10 degrees back and forth, that's where I get stuck

did you install a used SZL or brand new , how did you programm it , did you code it after programming ?????

I have bought a used one that had my real oem number and it is programmed and coded.

Resetting the motor position angle failed!
The process is repeated.
That is the massage i get when it fail

you didn't answer my important question : how did you program and coded the SZL ,

this is a typical VIN and Coding Mismatch problems when a used SZL is installed.

it was not done with ista, I think it was bmw codingtool and NCS Expert I was not present when it was done but it sounds like you are on the right track. How do you do it now?

ok this this case , the used SZL was not programmed ( software flash ) , but rather it was only coded with NCS ,, which doesn't solve your problem.

Most important is the VIN in SZL to match your car's VIN , this can be done by either tool32 , or by flashing the SZL with WINKFP .

The same guy who did the coding with NCS , hopefully can help your with tool32 to change the VIN , or with WINKFP to flash the software of the SZL and at the same time match the VIN of SZL with the VIN of your car.

when you write how to do it, it sounds like he did in my car and I know I've seen in same number in the szl has the same vin number as the car so it's probably installed correctly anyway. All the airbag lights went out afterwards too and the only one that lights up is active steering yellow now. do you have other theories. have googled and read about some module that can break and cause my symptoms but had the car since new and it is over 20 years old, sp a little strange that that module breaks at the same time as I change the szl

I'm sorry but I'm running out of ideas , hopefully other members shade some lights on this topic too.

Just put in mind , that even when you install a brand new parts , there is always a chance to be parts , so imagine in your case with a used SZL , you can't tell whether it is 100% in working condition or not .
