Guys, after research I have collated the following steps to do this -- iand I have tested it works!
1. Install E-Sys 3.30_1 from the thread by MobileBmwCoding on the PC. Download psdzdata and move it to C;\Data
2. Connect the cable E-SYS-ENET-Cable-For-BMW-F-serie-Data-E-SYS-ICOM-Coding-OBD-OBD2-Car-Scanner
(Start Ignition but not the engine FIRST. PC Network should be on DHCP mode)
3. Start E-Sys desktop icon which got installed
4. Click on the Menu item Connect and select F025(not F025_Direct) via your VIN and then in
the left hand vertical menu select FSC Extended.
In the Parameter section enter:
5. Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x63
6. Click on the Identify button and the Base variant HU_NBT will be populated
7. Application ID for NBT= 0xDE
8. Upgrade Index = 1
In the Action section:
9. Select StoreFSC and click on >> to move from left to the right window
10. Click on the Read button
11. Click Save and and name the file in the following format XXXXXXX.fsc where XXXXXXX is
last seven letters/numbers of your VIN
12, Click on the Menu Item Connect to Disconnect
13. Disconnect Cable
Steps to use this DE file to create a Lifetime FSC code:
1. Download BMW_CIC_FSC_Genereator.zip version 1.91
2. Expand the contents to a DIR
3. Run the exe in the newly created DIR
2. Select the DE file created, check NBT Radio button, select the Map, click on Lifetime and generate FSC Code.
5. Copy paste this code to Notepad on the PC and change Font size in Notepad to 24, so that you can see the difference between
ZERO and O, 1 and L,I - Use this while updating inside car.
Example: if you are looking to update Road Map EUROPE NEXT 2030 and you can list 2029 in this program
then you need to do the steps below to update LOOKUP.XML file in this DIR and rerun program
Prepare the USB Update stick:
1. Unpack the Downloaded Maps ZIP file
2. Expand the downloaded ZIP on an empty USB stick (formatted using fat32).
3. Copy all contents of the ZIP DIR containing .sig .nfm .pkg files and DIRs to the USB root DIR
Update LOOKUP.XML if your downloaded map is not listed in the program:
1. Insert the USB created containing the new Maps downloaded
2. goto the DIR 1/INFO_MAP_something and locate the file Info_Map.imp
3. Open this in a HEX Editor or any online hexeditor, by uploading this file
4. Note the 4 HEX values from offset 8
1. Open LOOKUP.XML in Notepad
2. Locate the last Map entry in <> for the Road Map EUROPE NEXT 2029
3. Copy and paste this entire line entry and update the following entries on this new line created for the new Map entry
SgbmId id="NAVD_000014B9_002_001_510" Increment this by 1
SWID_FscShort="00A90050" - Update this to the hex value you saw earlier online
NextNo="01785"- Increment this by 1
name="Road Map EUROPE NEXT 2029" - Update the year
sop="01.06.2019" - Update the year
Updating Map in car:
1. Insert the USB into the USB port between the front passenger seats
2. Start the car, not the engine
3. Display detects update, click update, enter the FSC code generated earlier
4. Wait for update to finish and map to display.
