I have this error  80442A
Light control unit (BEL) defect/ light control unit  BEL LIN Rotary switch defective

What this error code mean ?

Old thread but have seen 2 G30's with the same fault codes lately and one of them switched the headlights on and off on its own when in ACC mode (radio on, ignition off). There is a BMW bulletin about that. Might be caused by minor voltage fluctuations but probably is caused by a faulty contact inside the light switch unit. The light switch unit was updated in June 2019 and should not have the same issue.

Maybe it helps someone out (this post came on the first page of Bing search)
