BMW G30 Wheel Size Change / Coding
#1
Hello dear BimmerScene community!

I have a 2018 G30 (540i) and I changed the regular 20" tire sidewall height to match F90 (M5) or 7-series size/diameter to better fill the wheel arches.
Went from 245/35 to 245/40 front and 275/30 to 275/35 rear. Does anyone know if and how to code the new wheel/tire sizes to iDrive and also make the speedometer and odometer read correctly? Something like altering wheel impulses per 1 revolution or distance traveled in one wheel revolution?

With old/original setup (245/35R20 & 275/30R20) I had speedometer speed 100 km/h = 96 km/h real (GPS/Dragy) and when driving 80 km road every day it did read 80 km in odometer.
With new tyre sizes (245/40R20 & 275/35R20) I have speedometer speed 100 km/h = 100 km/h in real (GPS/Dragy) and when driving the same 80 km road the odometer reads only 76 km distance.

Is there a way to change the wheel setup defaults somewhere or re-calibrate? I would still have the speedo speed and real speed difference along with the correct distance reading in odo.

If someone knows something, help would be much appreciated!

Try to put wheel size in idrive tyre selection as other then do tyre pressure reset

Hello! Thank you for your input!

Only thing this does is that it removes the suggested/recommended tyre pressures from the iDrive TPMS screen.
This does not correct the car speedo, odometer, fuel consumption offsets.
