2016 G11 i-step update

Hi all

Connected my car to ista to see what modules needed updating, had a total of 15 but when executing the measures plan I got an error as below. I do also have the passenger seat massage module not responding!

"In order to execute the measure plan, additional enabling codes are required
009E001 - Voice processing system
009F001 - voice processing system with reading function"

I was using Enet cable with SDP v4.47.31. Is there any way around this? Is ESYS better? I have a stable power supply (MST80). I tried connecting with my icom clone from 2016 but was getting a firmware message on connection....guessing no updates for it!

Since getting the car last week I've had had nbt updated for lifetime maps and carplay activated.

i have esys v3.40, never used it though so need to do a bit of research to see how to update modules with it.

are you aware of any guides?

Yeah do that
Make sure you have good battery charger to connect in front area, 3x start for diagnostic and drivers belt locked in before flashing
I also recommend you to let the trunk open if anything happens you have the chance to do a battery reset

send me VIN , I can check if there are activation codes for this car in BMW Server . ISTA flashing is easier than Esys for people who never used Esys before.

After flashing , you will loose your fake lifetime map update and carplay , but you can apply them again ; but better confirm with your seller.

PS : you can update your ICOM Clone , I advise you to use ICOM for flashing.

Hi there

VIN is G263884.

Seller has said map update and carplay can be applied again, I got this via feature installer. 

How do I update icom clone please? Although need to get enabling codes in order to continue with ISTA. This would be my preference as it's what I've used used to do my F10 M5 and well as E90.

Just an update.....managed to update icom firmware and it now connects with my car fine, just need to sort out enabling codes in order for me to update i-step. Or can these be removed somehow to allow update and added back later?
