F11 535d SZL Replacement need coding help
#1
Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum, and new to coding. I have replaced a SZL module on my F11 535d 2011 due to broken cable.( couple of moths ago) The only thing that did not work were my steering wheel shifter pedals. i did not care really. I have ISTA error codes: C98C04 and CF2101.
Last week I had a dreaded HPFP failure. Once i did the replacement of the HPFP and I have seen error codes 803440 (SZL: no current coding data stored) and 803443 (SZL: control unit is not coded to the vehicle). I am not sure why they appeared. Maybe due to low battery voltage. I have downloaded E-SYS and I can connect my self with the ETH cable but I cannot find psdzdata for my car. My I-Step (current, last and shipment is F010-11-09-504). Does anyone know where can I have this file ? Do I need to add this to my /Data/psdzdata folder?
I have a battery charger connected to battery when connected and I use seat belt to prevent the vehicle to go to sleep mode.

How I understand , I need to code CAFD file to my SZL. I could click Read and I saw my SZL module without CAFD file? I have followed a tutorial on youtube, but I am stuck when I need to press button "Detect CAF for SWE". The button is grayed out...

Can anyone shed some light please? I am working in aviation as an avionics engineer, so I know my way with computers, IP addreses and loading SW. I just need a little bit help, which
E-SYS SW version should I use? etc.

Is it possible that engine cannot start if this SZL module is not coded?

Thank you,
Best regards,

Sure , DIY is always nice , instructions are all over the internet , youtube has few Esys flashing videos and the process is the same for 99% of the ECU's.

All software and Programming files ( PSDZDATA FULL ) needed are available on the forum, so start by collecting those , and read a lot before you start working on your car.

Hi thanx a lot for the info. So far I managed to code a "new" SZL, removed Pedestrian protection system and updated navigation maps.
I would love to do the Sport Display but i dont have ESYS Launcher. I did all with just ESYS.
