E87 new retrofit Airbag control unit

Hello, 
i need your help. My wifes E87 needed a new airbag control unit. I bought one with the same model number on ebay and plugied it into the car. Now i still got the airbag symbol after i deleted error memory. Is there someone who can help me to solve the problem? I think it has to be coded

Unfortunately those units are not plug and play , you need to flash it to match your car's VIN , then if you are lucky , you will be able to clear the codes.

Last time I worked on Exx car was like 13 years ago , so I don't really remember if with tool32 you can write a new VIN to the airbag unit or it needs to be flashed with WINKFP to accept the new VIN.

Hopefully other members will shade some more info .
