2021 BMW G20 Digital Key "Can't pair" error

I'm having trouble adding the digital key to my 2021 BMW G20. When I first bought my Google Pixel 9 Pro, everything worked fine, and I used the digital key without any problems for a year. I had to send the phone in for a warranty replacement of the display, and the service technicians made me reset the phone. After getting the phone back, I tried to add the digital key, but it didn't work this time. I get a "Can't pair" error.
I tried everything...I deleted the car from my profile and app. I reset the digital key in iDrive. I tried a hard reset of the iDrive (held the volume button down for 60 seconds). I deleted my profile from the car.
I tried adding the key from both the application and the link I received in the mail with the digital key activation code. I've run out of ideas. BMW dealer said that  they can't do anything about it, perhaps the phone is not compatible with this function. However, it worked correctly for a year.
Adding the key works without any problem on my wife's Galaxy S23 Ultra. I tried adding the key to her phone and sharing it with me so that I could add it to my phone. However, when I access the received link, I get the same error.
Is there anything else I can try before considering changing my phone?

I contacted customer service here in Romania, but they referred me to the local dealer. They told me that the phone is not compatible even though it's listed as such and worked correctly for almost a year until I had to reset it.

some guy on other forum had mentioned something important about Android 16 .. I think he has a valid point .
