I'm having a problem with a 2014 528i DME/CAS/Key replacement. I replaced them all at once so the ISN would match up and let the car start (it did - just once). The donor vehicle that was a 2012 528i. I have an Autel IM608, ISTA+ 4.55.12 with full programming at 4.55.11, E-Sys, and Tool32.
The goal is to get the VIN synced across the modules, and get the mileage synced (-1KM all over the place), and get the i-step up to date across all modules. All of this is being done so that I can run the Valvetronic learn in procedure. I'm in a mixed vin scenario where some (most) of the modules have adopted the donor VIN and I want them all to use my original VIN. The FRM and SZL are still using my original VIN.
Where I'm stuck is with ISTA programming. At first I was using E-Sys until the HU_NBT failed on the flash for some reason, and switched to ISTA. I was able to get that completed and a few other modules as well. Now, when I execute the measures plan, there's HW actions (DME, CON) that ISTA thinks I need to complete before it will go through and program everything.
ISTA keeps telling me that I need to close out the operation before it can program. I've been all over the before/after control unit replacement area, and pretty much every other place. When I close out the main operation and go back in, let it read out the vehicle, calculate a measures plan, it keeps running me in circles. Maybe I'm missing something? Very possible because this is the first BMW I've ever worked on.
