Hello everyone, greetings from the Czech Republic. I drive an i3 94 Ah and an x3 F25. I deal with BMW repairs and diagnostics. I would also like to do coding and today I bought BimmerUtility. I'm glad to be a part of this forum and I want to thank you for the welcome.
Good day, today I registered in this forum because I am becoming interested in the diagnosis and coding of BMW cars. I'm glad that such forums exist. Thanks to the authors for creating this forum.
I really forgot. I also have a BMW: E61 and G31 XDrive.

I bought my 2018 R nineT bike new and have recently got an ÏçØɱ A2, ÎŜ†Ä+ and ė-šÝ§, initially to simply activate a set of auxiliary fog lights I installed (which I haven't been able to do yet).
As I do all my preventive and corrective maintenance (strictly following the BMW maintenance programme, BTW), the bike has not been to a dealer since early 2020 when the warranty expired and as such it is at the ex-works I-Level, K001-17-11-501. Scanning the control units I find that with PSDZ v4.39.20 I have installed, there are several updates to 3 of the 6 controllers: BTLD, CAFDs, HWELs, SWFL, etc. Just the alarm unit alone has 4 updates to do.
So, given there's nothing wrong with the bike, how does one know whether it is a good idea to update the bike? Are there release notes somewhere? Of course, if there weren't relevant changes to be done BMW wouldn't have bothered, but still.
If the bike shows up at the dealer, are they required to update the software or only if there is a campaign to do that?
And on another point, to activate the LED nano fog lights, does anybody whether they are "Additional Headlights" or "LED Auxiliary Lights"? There's one SALAPA code for each of them and dozens of seemingly related settings mapped in BimmerUtility for each. Does anybody know which ones do activate my LED lights?
Hi One and All,
I have just joined this fabulous site. My previous cars are E28, E23, E34, E39 and E60. My current ride is a 2009 E63 635d.
I am an electronics engineer of some 30+ years specialising in PCB design. I repair and refurbish almost anything electronic including older BMW electronic modules for early E series, E39 era.
So, I'm hear to learn (every days a school day) and help where I can with any electronic issues with our beloved BMW's.

I used to do alot of coding and retrofitting back in the days with e-series. And a little on f-series onwards. But with time I forgot some of it. Anyways thank you for letting me join the forum
