  psdzdata and i-step version compatibility
Posted by: sasquartch - 11-09-2021, 12:48 PM - Forum: BMW F / G Series Coding & Retrofits & Diagnostics - No Replies

Is there a way of determining whether a given psdzdata version is going to be suitable to use for a particular vehicle if the i-step is known ?

My understanding is that as long as the psdzdata is at least a certain version (or newer) it should be OK

Is there either a document somewhere or preferably can I determine this from looking at the psdzdata files ?

Looking at my psdzdata (4.31.31) I can see in the mainseries\S15A folder (I am interested in G30 coding) there are two subfolders, S15A_21_03_582_V_004_000_001 and S15A_21_07_550_V_004_000_001, do these correspond to the the maximum i-step version that the files support ?

I've not been able to find any definitive answer to this

Thanks for any insights

  Wifi Antenna
Posted by: BmwJet - 11-07-2021, 04:54 PM - Forum: BMW F / G Series Coding & Retrofits & Diagnostics - Replies (5)

Hello, so I am planning on doing an NBTevo update! I got ėšÝ§ and everything needed to do an update. I don't have a battery charger so I will wait till i get a day off to be able to do it. I have apple carplay .bin file via usb I thought I should at least plug in the usb and just get regular non fullscreen carplay. Which turned out that I need to do an update because the .bin is for full screen. Well it didn't connect to car play it did show it and everything that comes along with it such as Screen Mirroring. Thing is I actually got my car's wifi connection to be found on my iPhone does that mean I have a wifi antenna already installed? I figured I probably do because I can see a signal.

e90 0468 ÎŜ†Ä could 3 Charge Pressure Sensors be faulty
Posted by: Colink2 - 11-07-2021, 12:43 PM - Forum: BMW E Series Coding & Retrofits & Diagnostics - No Replies

Symptoms after clearing 0468 error it returns 1 to 3 days later
Yellow dash warning appears 2 to 4 days later but often goes out by itself then back on again a few days later.

General question - Are Charge Pressure Sensors so unreliable that original + 2 X used ones are faulty? (Not tried a new one yet)

I need help to understand what I am doing wrong using ÎŜ†Ä. I am obviously missing something obvious.

If after listing errors I clear the faults I cannot find a way to go through the test procedure to check the air mass system

So I leave the errors in place and these are the steps I go through with ÎŜ†Ä:

IMAGE1
ÎŜ†Ä tells me I have to eliminate the error before continuing - but how do I eliminate the error before ÎŜ†Ä tells me what is wrong?
If it just means clear the error - how do I clear the error before leaving the test procedure or if I start by clearing the error how do I get to the test procedure?
IMAGE2
I am now continuing the test procedure - am I wasting my time because I have not "eliminated the error"
I am then asked to switch on Terminal 15. I have searched online, found lots about Terminal 15 but not clear what to do at this stage.
I pretend it is switched on and continue the test  - Am I wasting my time?

After operating throttle valve the charging pressure rose by Zero mbar

"Replace Charge Pressure Sensor" - does this have any validity (based on comments above)?
I purchased a used Charge Pressure Sensor. It had slightly rough idle and returned same fault pattern as original
Supplier supplied a second one - no rough idle. It worked for much longer than previous sensors - 7 days before yellow light, light cleared after less than one day.

Note both of the above were cleaned with electrical contact cleaner

I have no problem paying for a new one, but would be disappointed if I ended up with the same error due to my incorrect user of ÎŜ†Ä

4 min video of my use if ÎŜ†Ä here https://youtu.be/qYciQ1cPuUs

Any comments, or recommendations welcome
