can’t ignore them as it asks for the local file to be imported.

Where can I get FSC repair kit from?

Thanks

The repair kits comes from BMW. You can purchase them also if you dont have access to them.
Is the headunit in OEM state?

Guess I'll have to purchase it.

What do you mean by OEM state? It has carplay and lifetime maps activated last week via Feature Installer

OEM means the unit was not patched.
You can try restore the OEM FSC and see if the fsc are there.

I've not had the car long, not sure what has been done to it before.

Is there any easy way to see if it has been patched? What would the patch actually do?

I'm going to order a FSC repair kit

If you have feature not activated from factory like carplay, bmw apps, map update.
The FSC repair kit sometimes might not include the FSC. Its usually because ista would usually automatically request it.
Have you considered updating the car using esys?

I did consider esys but was told ista is better and easier.

wonder if I could remove the fsc’s added via feature installer

Removed feature installer and got past that error but now due to an ecu not responding I can’t continue.

Switched back to esys and that doesn’t want to connect now….not sure what’s happened

Which ecu is it? Might be the gateway that is causing esys not to connect
