ISTA and INPA using crashes with an error code.
#1
Hello!  Smile

Now I need help from industry enthusiasts.

CAR INFO:
BMW 5-series E61 -08
M57D30 (M57TU2?)

OBD CABLE INFO:
K+DCAN with switch

I did a clean install of Windows 11 on laptop. I installed Mike's Easy BMW Tools Package. The installation went smoothly.

After this, I installed ISTA version 4.39.20 and also installed PSzD data version 4.53.41 during the installation.
The installation went without any problems, but... there are problems using the program.
ISTA starts reading the car's information, but after the car's information has been read, an error message appears.

INPA can read fault codes from all control units, but... when you go inside the engine control unit, an error code appears on the screen.
I have tested this with both M57 DDE 5.0 and DDE 6.0 settings. Neither allows entry.

How can these be fixed so that the programs can actually be used?

I got help on another car forum.

I got a few reg edit files from him.

- ISTA_Reg_Fix_x64_Diag_Only
- ISTA_DisableInitialDatabaseCheck
- AppCheckDisable_to_use_different_DBs

He gave the instructions to test all files 1 at a time and restart the computer.

ISTA_Reg_Fix_x64_Diag_Only - with this file, I got ISTA to work.

1/2 problem fixed.

Does anyone have any information on how I can get the INPA program to work on the car?

Your INPA is missing the required files.

Can anyone post the missing files related to this INPA problem in this initial thread?
