BMW CIC 1b file Reader dont works Help

Hello my friends,

I have the following problem.
I would like to read the FSC activation code from my BMW E92 and use it to generate a new activation code.

I have already read the FSC with the SW ID Reader tool, but that was a few years ago.

Wanted to do it again now and update my navigation system.
Unfortunately I can not read the FSC so the 1b file.

The USB method doesn't work either.

Can you help me ?  What am I doing wrong?

What cable do you use? I believe this only works with ICOM on e-series. There is an other methode you can use for reading out 1B on e-series. There is a script somewere on the net you can copy on a USB and put in your car. I will then read the 1B file and copy it on the USB. You can then generate the fsc code.

I use a K & DCan cable. I've tried the USB method a few times now, but it doesn't work. The car is built in 2010 I also did this while the USB stick was in the glove compartment. made a restart of CIC at the same time but that didn't work either. Are there any other options or tools?

How does it all work with Navi Business (CIC Mid) ?? is there a tool for that?
I have enet cable and d-can cable.

this tool dont work with KDCAN Cable, only with ICOM. The USB Method works if you have correct usb stick like 2/4/8gb and the copy_scr file, if you need help send me a message

Hi friend,

I have extracted lot of 1B files using a USB-ETH dongle from DLink like shown.
You only have to connect it to your USB-MapUpdate port (the one in the globebox) and connect through SSH using root:

Connect the dongle to your laptop
Configure your ethernet adaptor with:

• IP: 160.48.199.98
  
• Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.128
  
• Gateway: left empty
  

Connect using Putty or similar using SSH protocol

• IP: 160.48.199.99
  
• Port: 21
  

User (one of these)

• anonymous / no password
  
• root / cic0803
  
• root / Hm83stN)
  

Finally, copy this file to local:
/HBpersistence/normal/generalPersistencyData_DiagnosticSWTController


Your 1B file is inside, using a Hex Editor:

• Find these 4 bytes: 0x01,0x01,0x00,0x1B 
  
• Extract the next 319 possitions.
